News from Headquarters...
Wherever I go in the spaces of this place we call “the west” I like to touch the earth. In some crazy way I feel like I am touching the funeral shroud that lies over the Indigenous Peoples, the Spaniards, the Buffalo, the Pioneers and all who have fallen and come to their rest. I know it’s strange but its holy ground to me. Above it is all life, from the tiniest to the largest, the birds that take to the wing and those things that can’t be seen but can be heard and felt. It’s a good day. +Doc

This award winning acrylic painting "Running Free" was inspired by the award winning Documentary- Unbranded. Award winning filmmaker, Ben Masters. "It was a modern day Lonesome Dove, in my book. I feel fortunate to have ridden with Ben and Val, through the most remote and beautiful country in the lower 48."
